Capitol Cost: | Initial costs of the River Turbine can be compared to Onshore Wind Turbines and Hydroelectric (without a dam). They are comprized of most of the same parts and construction would be similar. Instead of building atop a tower, construction would be under water. |
Fixed O & M: | There are minimal Operation costs. The turbines are automative using Transgear™ and Hatch controls. The maintenance costs will be similar to Hydroelectric and Onshore Wind; however, maintenance can be optimized with plug and play parts to minimize down-time for the turbines. Turbines can also resurface for maintenance work above water. |
Variable O&M: | There is no variable O&M cost. Free-flow rivers are renewable resources. |
Transmission: | Transmission of the energy will be very inexpensive. The turbines can be placed in close proximity to the demand for power. |
